Yogic Management for Pregnant Women During 4 & 5th Month

Maharshi Elchuri advices that pregnant woman should avoid intercourse until the baby gets 6 months. Intercourse during pregnancy will put the pressure on the abdomen and also the released semen causes problems. You can say it is unscientific, myth, or illogical, but shastra says that and you should deeply think about it and follow it blindly. This is also a reason for abortions. Following are the yogasanas that a pregnant woman should do in her 4th and 5th month of pregnancy.

1. Matsyasana: Life flat on the back, keep your legs in lotus position, slowly bend your neck backwards, and rest on the crown of your head. Do this for one or two minutes.

2. Shanti sayanasana. This is the best asana that can be performed till the delivery.

Lie flat on your back with legs and hands apart in a relaxed position. Close your eyes and inhale. Feel like the inhaled air has gone into your feet, making them cool, feeling light, and feeling well. Think like that for 3 or 4 times. Then feel like it has gone into your knees, blood is passing well, becoming light, pain is coming down, and feeling well. Air has filled from the knees to umbilical region. Feel like everything is cool, light, and good. Feel like the air has reached the baby and baby is enjoying it. Inhale fully into your lungs. Feel like that region is light and good. From there, feel like the fresh cool air is going into hands, neck, face, and head and they are becoming lighter and lighter. This is completely a feeling that you can practice to keep your mood peaceful till the delivery.
