Yogic Management for Irregular Menstrual Periods

Food precautions for irregular periods have been explained in another post. While following them, you should do this alongside.

Take some soil and apply it to the umbilical region from left to right and hold it to the skin with the help of a cloth. Keep this for at least half an hour. Do this in the morning and evening when the stomach is empty.

Then, perform mula bandha, a posture where the body from the anus to the navel is contracted and lifted up and towards the spine. Read more about it on Wikipedia. Watch the below video on performing it:

With this contraction, heat will generate there, help move the dross, and eventually period will come.

Perform udara chalana. Inhale and exhale speedily, which contracts and expands the stomach.

Perform uddiyana bandha where you will exhale all the air emptying the stomach. This puts pressure in the umbilicus region pushing the debri in the uterus out. Do this 6-12 times. Watch the below video on performing this asana.
