Yogic Management for Asthma

Asthma has been a severe problem these days and seen more in the urban areas than the rural. Asthma patients suffer difficulty breathing and gasping for air at times. When it occurs and you don’t have access to medical supervision, the following thing can help you get this difficulty breathing normalized.

Take a bucket of warm water and a bucket of cold water. Put your feet in the lukewarm water, drink a glass of warm water, cover yourself in a thick bed sheet. Soak a napkin or hanky in cold water and put on your head. Maharshi says that the heat from your feet will go to the lungs and ease breathing within 15-20 minutes. Once you feel relief, remove the warm water bucket and put your feet in cold water for two minutes. Do it for only two minutes strictly.

Perform Surya Bedha Pranayama for 12 or 16 or 24 times as you can.

After that, perform this pranayama speedily, called Vega Bhastrika. Inhale from the right nostril and exhale from the left speedily.
